The Association Between Hepatic Fat Content and Liver Injury in Obese Children and Adolescents Effects of ethnicity, insulin resistance, and common gene variants

چکیده
OBJECTIVEdNonalcoholic fatty liver disease and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) are highly prevalent in obese youth. Herein, we aimed to study the association between hepatic fat accumulation as assessed bymagnetic resonance imaging and circulating levels of cytokeratin-18 (CK-18) fragments, a robust NASH biomarker, and to explore the impact on this association of ethnicity, insulin resistance, and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with steatosis (rs738409 in the PNPLA3, rs1260326 in the GCKR) or NASH severity (rs2645424 in the FDFT1).

متن کاملEvaluation of Diabetogenic Mechanism of High Fat Diet in Combination with Arsenic Exposure in Male Mice
Obesity is a main reason of type 2 diabetes and also chronic exposure to arsenic (As)can produce diabetic symptoms. In previous studies, the association between high-fat dietand arsenic in the incidence of diabetes was found, but the role of beta cells activity, livermitochondrial oxidative stress, and hepatic enzymes (leptin, adiponectin and beta amylase)was unclear. Thus, present study was co...
متن کاملCommon Genetic Variant of insig2 Gene rs7566605 Polymorphism Is Associated with Severe Obesity in North India
Background: Obesity is a very common disorder resulting from an imbalance between food intake and energy expenditure, and it has a substantial impact on the development of chronic diseases. The aim of this study was to examine the association of INSIG2 (rs7566605) gene polymorphism with obesity and obesity associated phenotypes in North Indian subjects. Methods: The variants were investig...

Background: The objective of this experimental study was to determine the effect of 6 weeks of high intensity interval training (HIIT) on G6Pase expression in liver tissue, serum insulin and glucose and insulin resistance in obese rats with type 2 diabetic and compared with non-diabetic obese group. Methods: 28 male Wistar rats aged 10 weeks (220 ± 10 g) were obesed by 6 weeks of high-fat diet...
